Silver Blue is the proven, preferred and easy way to keep silver looking lustrous.
Silver Blue works chemically to convert tarnish to a harmless sulphur fume. It contains no abrasive to wear away the precious metal.Silver Blue does not absorb tarnish, it does not deteriorate and can be used repeatedly. After extended use and some evaporation, the liquid level will be lowered. A one time addition of up to half a container of plain water may be made without diluting the capacity of Silver Blue to remove tarnish.
Directions:
1.) Dip silver into the Silver Blue for a few seconds until tarnish disappears (the odor is the sulphur fume released to the air). If you are pouring the Silver Blue out of the container be sure to use a plastic container. Pieces to large to be dipped into the container can be detarnished with cleaner on a sponge or a soft cloth.
2.) Do not dip oxidized patterns (black recesses). Lightly , moisten sponge or soft cloth with Silver Blue and wipe tarnish from raised surfaces.
3.) Always rinse immediatly and thoroughly with running water, preferably warm.
4.) Dry with a soft cloth.
Cautions
If silver is very tarnished, it may be necessary to supplement the Silver Blue treatment with a regular silver polish to restore the orignial patina.
Silver Blue will discolor stainless steel if left in prolonged contact. A simple dip and rinse does no harm. It is a good practice to immerseonly the handlesof knives with stainless steel blades.
Do not use in a metal container.
If a tarnish preventative has been used to coat the surface of silverware it may have to be removed by rubbing or buffing before Silver Blue can be effective.
Contains acidified thioures, detergent and anti-tarnishing agent. Do not take internally. Avoid getting into eyes. Keep away from children. Use rubber gloves if hands are sensitive.
